München Balkan Days 2009

South-East Europe is a region of cultural, ethnical and religious diversity. This diversity was the frame of historical and social developments throughout the last centuries which lives in the mind of all people for good.

The Balkan is a part of Europe with many faces, traditions and an interesting history. This led to the fact, that about ¼ million people are living in Munich, with Balkan roots. With this background, due to the migration from the Balkan and because of the opening of the Balkan´s countries´ society, the 3rd Balkan days in Munich, this year, have the topic “The Balkan in a dialogue”.

The opening festivity of the Balkan Days in on Friday, the 13th November 2009, at 6 p.m with the EU-parlamentarian Bernd Posselt. Afterwards we will have a discussion with the topic “Dialogue of the regions”, with many representative of the Balkan region.

On Saturday, 14th November, diverse organisations and companies have the opportunity to present themselves, their projects and their activities to the general public on the Balkan fair from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. At the same time, there will be a childrens´ programme, enriched with many activities, like a presentation from the School of Bulgaria, presenting childrens´ books, and many more.

At the end of the day, there will be an interesting cultural evening closing the 1st day of the Balkan Days.

On Sunday, 15th November, films will be presented about and from the Balkan.

Who is interested, can choose between four films between 12 a.m. and 6 p.m.

At the end of the day, champagne will be served at 7:30 p.m.

The most important and most beautiful event of the Balkan Days is the 12th December with a great Balkan concert evening, starting at 7 p.m. Many artists present the diversified Balkan music.
